Tanzania Reinsurance Company limited (TAN-RE) was established in line with Section 70 of the Insurance Act. No. 18 of 1996.
The Company was dully incorporated as a limited liability company under the Companies Ordinance CAP.212 in 2002. TAN-RE has been registered to transact reinsurance business in respect of the following classes of business: all non-life insurance business including marine and aviation business, all life assurance business including pension business.
The company is now inviting suitably qualified Tanzanian candidate to fill the following position.

TAN-RE's Net profit for the year ended 31 December 2014 has increased to TZS 3,776,195,689 from TZS 2,237,019,951 realized in 2013.
During the period , Gross Premiums increased to TZS 73,572,055,728 from TZS 62,692,677,913 while Net Premiums increased to TZS 62,810,074,669 from TZS 54,570,877,421 for the year 2013.
Claims and Expenses increased to TZS 64,166,562,045 from TZS 56,777,630,233 which resulted in a profit before tax of TZS 5,238,466,240 and a Net Profit of TZS 3,776,195,689.
TAN-RE has posted a profit after tax of TZS 3,459,606,712 for the year ended 31 December 2015 down from TZS 3,776,195,691 in realized in 2014.
Overall, gross premium income decreased from TZS 73,572,055,729(FY 2014) to TZS 73,057,239,332 while Net Premiums decreased to TZS 60,589,401,281 from TZS 62,810,074,670 in 2014.
Total Claims and Expenses increased from TZS 56,777,630,233 to TZS 64,166,562,045 which resulted in a Profit before tax of TZS 6,083,989,213 compared to TZS 5,238,466,242 for FY 2014 and a
net profit of TZS 3,459,606,712 for the year ended 31 December 2015.
TAN-RE and Ghana Re have joined hands to present a seminar on Engineering and Business Interruption Insurance to the Tanzanian market.
Expected participants include members from the insurance companies,insurance brokers and TAN-RE , the co organizers.
The seminar will run from Monday 11th July 2016 to Thursday 14th July 2016 at the New Africa Hotel in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.
In addition to the training the seminar will provide a platform for mutual exchange of ideas between both the participants and facilitators.
The facilitators for the seminar include Mr. Gustav Siale, Ghana Re's CEO, as well as Mr. Amani Tuntufye, TAN-RE's Principal Underwriting Officer.
